PDF DIGITAL PRODUCT - KNITTING PATTERN

This knitting pattern is written in English.

The Optic Hoodie is a comfortable sweater with an oversized body, oversized hood, close fitting sleeve, and cute 1x1 slipped rib stitch details. The slipped rib stitch allows for a sleek hem, wristbands, and hood detail - no pesky tension issues that usually pop up with a classic 1x1 rib stitch! This pattern is packed full of helpful tips and modification suggestions - you can truly make this sweater your own!

Pattern Tester Feedback

“For the first time ever, I have a handknit hoodie with a ZIPPER that was made just for me. This pattern is so clear and easy to follow, as well as easy to modify that you will be able to make your dream sweater too. DON'T let the Japanese short rows scare you! Mollie has incredible talent explaining new techniques and providing diagrams. You will be so proud of yourself! The reaction I get when people compliment it and I say I made it is a dropped jaw. Worth it.”

“Amazing pattern! I loved that it had a classic assembly but allowed me to learn new techniques. Short rows, hood and adding a zipper - three things I thought would be intimidating but the pattern explained them so clearly and had many tips along the way. I'm very proud of this project and I can't wait to wear it all the time!”

– Ashley W., @a.w.handmade on Instagram

“What a well-written pattern, and I love that it's size inclusive. The designer has done a very nice job incorporating several tips and tricks and helpful notes if you'd like to make some customizations for your own fit.”

Sizes

To determine your size, measure your chest around the widest point, then locate the closest value listed beside “Suggested Bust”. This pattern has 8” (20 cm) of positive ease in the bust, 1 ½” (~4 cm) positive ease in the bicep, and 1” (2.5 cm) positive ease in the armhole depth. If you have a large measurement difference between your full bust and your upper bust and/or waist, you may wish to choose a size based on your upper bust measurement (taken underneath your armpits) and add bust darts to the front of your sweater. This will allow for a smoother fit along your back and likely provide a better fit for your sleeves as well. This pattern does not dive into bust darts, but resources are provided. If you would like a roomier fit, size up. If you would like a a closer fit, size down.
